ok, let me break it down for you. If he wanted to be with you, he would be with you. When a guy wants to be with someone, he is with her, simple as that. He has told you a bunch of crap about needing to find himself..blah blah blah.... because all guys say that kind of stuff, it is easier for them and sometimes they don't want to be mean. It sounds like he is looking for someone else, but isn't sure if it will work out or not and doesn't want to burn his bridges with you. He is telling you not to move on because he likes the idea of you being his back up plan. It is very unfair that he is out there single, while stringing you along giving you some glimpses of false hope that he may come back. This prevents you from moving on. So what do you do? Take control of your life and end it 100% with him and get the closure you need. Meet new people, go out with friends, get hobbies etc..
