Chapter 14 uncharacterized discharge?

i went to army bct and failed a piss test. they are giving me a chapter 14 discharge witch is misconduct. it is a general other than honorable discharge. however, today i was given a couseling statement by a sgt major. he said i am still getting a general oth chap 14 discharge but it will still say uncharacterized on my record because i havent been in for more then 180 days.is that possible?
