My son swallowed a battery when he was 8 months. can i sue the Dr?

My son swallowed a battery when he was 8 months old and i kept taking him to the pediatrics for 8 weeks once a week or twice a week because he wasnt eating. now he has a life problem where food gets stuck and his esophugus can errupt anytime. can i sue the pedeatrician for not catching the battery sooner? if it wouldve been found sooner then the battery wouldnt of done so much damage. now i have hospital biss of almost 10,000 and expecting more for other treatments.
